All three of our parish churches are available for Marriage bookings.

Booking Requirements

* Bookings need to be made at least 6 months in advance. 

* For Marriage Blessings (Convalidations) a minimum of 3 months notice is preferred.

* At least one of the couple to be married must be a Catholic, preferably who has made their Confirmation.

* If either of the couple have previously been married and divorced, please contact your local parish priest to determine if an annulment is needed BEFORE making a booking.

* We do not hold weddings on a Sunday, during Holy Week, or on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Celebrant

* Your celebrant must be a Catholic Priest or Deacon.

* If you live outside of our Parish area and have not yet organised a celebrant, please ask your local parish priest to celebrate your marriage here.

* If your parish priest is not available and you would like our parish priest, Fr Chris Roberts, to be your celebrant, you will need to obtain a letter of permission from your parish priest to be married outside of your parish. The letter should be on parish letterhead and signed by your parish priest. This will need to be provided after you have made a booking

* If you would like Fr Chris to be your celebrant, please note that he does not celebrate outdoor marriages, and he is not available for any bookings during October.

Church Seating Capacities

* St Matthew's Jamberoo holds around 100-150 people.

* St Mary Star of the Sea Gerringong holds around 150-200 people.

* Ss Peter and Paul Kiama holds around 350-400 people.

Fees

We do not charge for Marriages, but we do ask for a donation for the church to help cover upkeep and expenses, and, if our parish priest is your celebrant, a donation for him.

We do not suggest a set donation amount - simply give what you are happy to give.

​

If you have arranged another Catholic priest as your celebrant please ask him if he has a fee.

Confetti and other throwables

We do not allow the throwing of confetti, rice, flower petals or any other substance in any of our churches. ​

Booking Time

Marriage bookings are for 2 hours, set 30 minutes before your nominated start time, e.g., if your marriage is at 3pm then your booking would be from 2:30pm to 4:30pm. If you require a longer time please advise of this when completing the booking request form.
